Licensing and continuity

Offline licensing with no kill switch, and what happens if the company goes away.

Some commitments on this page are being put in place before the first paid release. Each item's status is marked.

Offline license file. Paid plans come as a signed license file checked on the host. No activation server, no phone-home.
Renewal from a report you read. The app keeps a local count of seats in use, active days, files saved, and engagements and firewalls (as one-way hashes). Renewal needs those counts: at renewal you save the report, read it, and upload it (or type its totals in, if no file may leave your network). Nothing is sent automatically, nothing is sent unless you renew, and there is no back-billing.
No kill switch. An expired license falls back to the free edition after a 30-day grace period. Saved engagements can always be opened and exported.
Your outputs are yours. Reports, change packages and engagement files stay usable without the product.
Continuity. Any paid customer can review the source under NDA. Source escrow can be arranged for plant and enterprise agreements.
